USE OF OZONE IN WATER PARKS
Advantages and Benefits of Using Ozone in Water Parks
Ozone is used in water park pools as a disinfectant and purifier. Its disinfecting power is much greater than that of chlorine, with the added benefit of leaving no residues and not irritating the skin, eyes, hair, or nasal passages. Ozone eliminates chloramines and reduces organochlorine compounds that cause unpleasant tastes and odors for water park users.
It can reduce the use of chlorine, flocculants, and coagulants by up to 80% and prevents the formation of isocyanurates.
In addition, its powerful purifying capacity improves turbidity, SS, SD, providing clearer and purer water. Ozone is not transported or stored—it is generated on-site and applied instantly. It operates automatically and autonomously.
High disinfection, water sabings, and elimination of chloramines
Ozone reduces the amount of backwash water for filters
Ozone is generated in situ, no need to store or transport chemicals
Ozone leaves no residues and is environmentally friendly
The system is automated and requires no labor to operate

Reduces chlorine consumption
Ozone has a much higher disinfection power than chlorine. With an ozone system in your pool, you will need to apply much less chlorine to maintain the required residual in the pool. It will also reduce the use of flocculants and coagulants and decrease the appearance of cyanuric acid.

Top-quality water
Ozone is a powerful water purifier that reduces organic and inorganic load through oxidation. When mixed in the water, it lowers COD, BOD, TSS, TDS, turbidity, color, taste, and odor. It does not alter pH and does not generate residues that need to be treated. It provides crystal-clear water that swimmers appreciate.

No odors or unpleasant tastes
Ozone eliminates unpleasant tastes and odors in pools caused by organochlorine compounds, resulting from the reaction of chlorine with organic matter. It offers swimmers a unique and pleasant bathing experience.
Without labor, automatic
The system generates ozone and injects it into the tank automatically, without the need to apply manual labor in the process. The equipment only needs to be connected to the tank to be treated and provide it with a point of light.
No chemical storage
Ozone cannot be transported or stored, it is generated on site, and it is applied instantly, so it is not necessary to store and manage chemical products, it avoids transport and reduces the carbon footprint.
Biocide recognized by the ECHA
Ozone is on the list of biocides by the European Chemical Agency and ZonoSistem has all the necessary legalization documentation to be able aply ozone in its porcess.

How much ozone do I need?
The calculation of the ozone dose to be applied to a swimming pool for water parks will depend on several factors. The main factors are related to the use of the pool (number of users), type of biocide used, current state of the water treatment plant, size of the pool, water temperature, etc... Even so we can estimate a standard dose that will surely be very positive and will obtain important benefits, this dose of ozone is estimated around 1g/h per 40 m3 of water.
With this rate applied in the compensation basin, by means of a HIDRO V system, organic matter reductions will be produced and disinfection processes will be initiated, avoiding the generation of chloramines and causing a strong reduction of the necessary chlorine. In addition, filter washings will be reduced, leading to a significant reduction in water consumption.
How is it installed?
The installation is very simple. We only have to recirculate the water from the recirculation vessel, using the HIDRO V compact plant. In the following diagram you can see the recommended electrical connections.
As an accepted improvement to this hydraulic diagram, a small modification can be made to the suction of the HIDRO V plant, taking the suction water directly from the filtered water pipe, thus avoiding possible clogging of the recirculation pump caused by corks, hair and dirt.
Notes: There are a multitude of installation options depending on the objectives to be achieved. Consult with ZonoSistem's pool ozone experts.
